Soundproofing is almost non-existent!!! If you enjoy deep sleep, bring a sleep mask because the curtains fail to block morning light!!!

The stay at Laekjaborgir Guesthouse brought some enjoyable moments. I loved the clean premises and the thoughtful kitchen setup. Cooking became easy with all the cookware and kitchen utensils provided. It felt cozy having a sitting area and terrace to unwind while taking in the mountain views. A highlight was witnessing the northern lights right outside the door, such a magical experience. However, some aspects were frustrating. Check-in required a phone call to unlock the unit, which confused me at first, especially using my US cellphone. The WiFi was down during my visit, limiting connectivity, and the room felt a bit cramped. A microwave would have been a big plus for convenience. The location is quite remote, so plan ahead for meals since the nearest restaurant is 3 km away. Overall, while the guesthouse has potential with its clean and inviting spaces, the check-in process and lack of amenities could use some improvement.

The studio was super clean and contained all the essentials. The decor was charming, and everything felt brand new. Loved the cozy atmosphere after a long day exploring!
But beware, the walls are as thin as my patience when my partner snores! A few more insect nets wouldn’t hurt either!

Comfortable Stay with Essential Tips
We enjoyed our two nights in a cozy apartment. Bring snacks, as the closest restaurant is a 3km drive. The wind did make for some noisy nights, but overall, it was a pleasant escape into nature. A unique stay for those seeking tranquility!
